Using Cemantica, you will be able to create your Journey Atlas whether it's from a template or 100% created on your own. In this article, we will walk you through the entire process of how to create a new Journey Atlas Map.
Let's start first by understanding where to start when creating a new Journey Map - are we starting from scratch? From a ready-made template?
To create a new Journey Atlas Map, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Journey Maps Board and click on "New Map."
Enter a name for your Journey Atlas.
Choose a template:
Use the predefined Journey Portfolio template, or
Select the Blank template to start from scratch and customize your map.
Select a Persona for your journey.
💡 You can define a Universal Persona to use across your journey atlas exercises or high-level maps, making them less dependent on a specific Persona
Adding the Journeys to the portfolio
After creating your Journey Atlas map, you can begin mapping the macro (high-level) journeys and micro (subjourneys) within your organization.
To add a new journey, click on "Add Journey Map" in the Journey Maps lane.
Then, either start typing the name of the new journey or select an existing journey from the list. You don't need to map the journey in advance.
If the journey is relevant across multiple stages of the portfolio, you can re-select the card to associate it with each stage.
You can click on the journey card to access the map directly. If the map is empty, you'll need to assign a Persona first before you can start mapping.
You can view the status and affected personas for each journey directly on your Atlas map. Additionally, use the comments feature to collaborate and gather input from your stakeholders.
Visualizing the hierarchy in your Map
Cemantica allows you to visualize the hierarchy of your journeys by connecting related journeys.
Link high-level journeys to the relevant phases and stages in the Journey Atlas.
Connect micro-journeys to their parent journeys.
Establish direct connections between journeys, such as linking customer journeys with service blueprints, or connecting current and future journeys.
Subjourneys can also be linked to parent journey phases or stages.
A single journey can be connected to multiple master journeys.

How to link a subjourney to a phase or stage
These connections enable you to view the hierarchy from parent to child. To see the hierarchy, go to each map menu and click on "View Hierarchy".
Follow best practices with developing and managing journey hierarchies at the different levels you need, from macro to micro journeys.
