Project Settings lets you transfer concept lists and Science assertions so that established analysis resources can be reused in related text analysis projects.
This can save setup time and improve consistency across recurring studies, comparable datasets, or successive reporting periods.
Decide what to reuse
Concept lists and Science assertions serve different purposes:
Concept lists organize concepts into reusable analytical themes
Science assertions change how the text analysis project science interprets particular words or phrases
Copy a concept list when the analytical theme remains relevant. Copy assertions only when the source and destination text analysis projects use the affected language in the same way.
Two text analysis projects may address similar subjects without using identical terminology. Always review transferred resources in the context of the destination project.
Copy Science assertions between text analysis projects
Users with the appropriate creation permissions can copy Science assertions from one text analysis project to another.
From Assertions Management:
Select the text analysis project containing the assertions under Import from project
Select the destination under Export to projects
Select Copy Assertions
Open each destination text analysis project and review its Next build settings
Rebuild each destination text analysis project when the assertions are ready to apply
Copied assertions are prepared for the next build. They do not immediately change the current analysis.
Before rebuilding, confirm that every Ignore, Merge, Notice and Force Collocate instruction is suitable for the destination data. An assertion that improves one text analysis project may remove or alter meaningful language in another.
Copy concept lists between text analysis projects
Use Concept List Management to transfer reusable concept lists.
Choose the source under Import from project
Choose the destination under Export to projects
Select the concept lists you want to transfer
Select Copy Concept Lists
Review the copied lists in each destination text analysis project
After copying, check whether the listed concepts have meaningful matches in the destination text analysis project. Concept relationships and match counts are based on each text analysis project’s own language, so the same list can produce different results across text analysis project.
Download and upload concept lists
Concept List Management also provides options to Download Concept List and Upload Concept List.
Use these options when you need to:
Preserve a reusable copy outside the text analysis project
Transfer concept lists through a file-based workflow
Share an approved set of concepts with another text analysis project or user
After uploading a list, review its concepts, labels, colors and matches before relying on it in an analysis.
Review transferred resources
For concept lists:
Confirm that the list name and description remain appropriate
Search for concepts with few or no matches
Review conceptual matches in the destination text analysis project
Remove concepts that do not represent the same theme
Add destination-specific language where necessary
For Science assertions:
Review all pending assertions under Next build
Verify affected terms in Records
Check for differences in language, abbreviations, or domain usage
Rebuild only after confirming the complete set of changes
