Understanding user roles and permissions

How user roles determine access to text analysis project, workspaces and administrative actions in Journey Insights Hub.

Journey Insights Hub uses roles to control access at both the organization and workspace level. This allows organizations to give users the level of access they need without giving everyone the same permissions.

A user can also have different roles across workspaces. For example, someone may be able to create and edit text analysis project in one workspace while having view-only access in another.

Available roles

Role

What the role allows

Viewer

View text analysis project and interact with available content.

Editor

Includes Viewer access, with the ability to modify, delete, or copy existing text analysis project.

Creator

Includes Editor access, with the ability to upload data and create new text analysis project.

Workspace Admin

Manage users and permissions within assigned workspaces, along with other workspace-level settings.

Organization Admin

Manage users, roles and workspaces across the organization.

Organization and workspace roles

An organization-level role applies across the organization, while a workspace-level role applies only to a specific workspace.

When possible, assigning roles at the workspace level provides more flexibility. It allows someone to have broader access where they need it without automatically receiving the same permissions everywhere.

Check your current role

From Settings, open Organization to view your organization-level role.

To check your role within a specific workspace, open Workspace and use Switch your workspace if needed. Your workspace role applies only to the selected workspace.
